There are several phases for this process. It’s crucial to the requirements and values of the FTCCC that projects are selected based on broad yet deep public participation, both in the development and selection of projects. The goal is to select projects that will have the most catalytic impact for Fresno’s economy and environment, with a specific focus on Downtown, Chinatown, and Southwest Fresno.
The Community Steering Committee
The Fresno Transformative Climate Communities Collaborative includes a Community Committee which will be meeting regularly from July through October of 2017. Anyone who lives, works, or owns property in downtown, Chinatown, or southwest Fresno can join the Community Steering Committee. A list of meeting dates is below. The Committee’s ultimate direction for the City of Fresno is advisory and will be considered by the Mayor and Fresno City Council for final approval.
Project Kickoff Workshops
The Fresno Transformative Climate Communities Collaborative includes an open proposal process. People and organizations that are interested in submitting a project for consideration by the Collaborative to be included in the City of Fresno’s proposal should attend at least one Proposal Kickoff Workshop to learn more about eligible projects, what should be included in a proposal, and to connect with others who may be interested in partnering on projects collectively. Technical assistance will be avaliable for people and organizations organizing projects.
Call for Project Concepts
Anyone who has a project eligible for Transformative Climate Communities funding in Fresno should submit their project for consideration by the Collaborative. All people interested in submitting a project need to fill out the Project Registration Form no later than Monday, August 28. The Request for Project Concepts is open. A PDF of the Call for Projects can be accessed here. Project developers will have until September 12th to submit their Concept Projects through a form online that will be sent to those who fill out the Project Registration Form. During the open proposal period, City staff will be available for project consultations. To set up a consultation with the City, please contact Laura Gloria at firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information about projects that are eligible for TCC funding, please review the state’s funding guidelines here.
Project Review Day
After the Community Steering Committee has reviewed and provided initial feedback and refinement of projects under consideration for funding, there will be a Project Review Day where members of the public can learn more about projects that are still under consideration, ask questions, and provide input on projects as they continue to develop for funding consideration.
